Ford has announced its intentions to recruit 1,000 technicians for its UK network, with suggestions that annual salaries could be as high as £45,000.
The recruitment demand is due to the increasing complexity of technology in Ford vehicles, and the shortage of qualified technicians currently operating in the UK as more new drivers take to the road each day. From apprenticeships to top-level master technician roles, jobs are available within Ford’s dealerships, or working with fleet customers as part of their mobile servicing system.
Andy Barratt, chairman and managing director of Ford of Britain, is reported as saying:
“This is a fantastic opportunity to join the UK’s biggest network, representing the country’s favourite car and van brand. Ford’s product range is growing almost as fast as its technology, and although we value traditional technical skills, we’re looking for ambitious and flexible technicians who can join us on our journey to hybrids, battery electric vehicles and autonomous technology – and beyond.”
Ford’s new technicians will benefit from training for all levels and abilities, at their Henry Ford Academy in Daventry and is being partnered with the Motor Ombudsman.
