Reliability survey sees Honda take the highest place

A recent survey of over 30,000 drivers revealed Honda to be widely considered the most reliable car brand. The European study was carried out by the Organisation of Consumers and Users and revealed a reliability rating of 93/100 for Honda. Furthermore, an impressive 79% of respondents said that they would happily recommend a Honda vehicle to a friend or relative.

Participants stated that the factors they gave the most consideration to when car shopping were reliability, family requirements, fuel consumption and cost. Focusing on the experience of the motorists in the last 12 months, the survey specifically looked at the breakdowns of their vehicles, as well as order and frequency. This helped to establish a reliability index for the comparison of breakdown probability between different makes and models.

The results showed that 1 in 3 drivers broke down in the last 12 months, with 16% of vehicles breaking down while the vehicle was in motion. The main cause of breakdowns seem to be failure of electrical systems such as the lights, fuses, instrument panel, electric windows, central locking, the engine’s electronics and the braking system.

The Honda Jazz 1.4 received the highest ratings, which highlights their commitment to delivering a quality service to customers. Honda has stated that consumer confidence in their services and the dependability of their vehicles is highly important. The results of the survey show that Honda’s vehicles are the least likely to break down.

Breakdown and maintenance costs can be significant for vehicle owners. Despite the fact that it is no longer necessary to have vehicles repaired by the dealer in order to retain the warranty, more than half of drivers prefer this option over visiting an independent garage and enjoying cheaper costs.

The automotive industry needs dedicated and skilled technicians and repair specialists that can provide a high quality service to main dealerships.
