The Paris Motor Show is the oldest international event of its type. It was first held right at the end of the 19th century in 1898. Since then it has established itself as one of the most important events on the calendar in Europe, only equalled by Frankfurt.

The 2016 Paris Motor Show runs from the 1st-16th October and will welcome well over 1 million visitors in total in that time. The event always proves popular amongst enthusiasts, seeing 1.25 million people attend in 2014 when it was last held.

Over the years the event has showcased all kinds of new technology, revealing products to the world that companies have spent a great deal of time, effort and money on developing. This year’s show, much like the 2014 variant, revealed the great leaps that have been made in electric vehicles, including displaying many new concepts.

Battery life and range have long been a concern for producers and consumers alike, with both demanding better results. Many companies have been looking into this, including VW and Vauxhall (Opel). Both of these producers unveiled new vehicles, with VW’s promising 480km on a single charge and Vauxhall’s offering 400km.

At John Gibson we always keep an eye on motor shows around the world and the new products they showcase, particularly concepts. There are many occasions when the vehicles that begin life as a concept make their way into production. This can easily result in the creation of motor industry jobs and we are always poised to help clients recruit the right people. We have done this for many years with great success.

We understand how great the impact introducing new models can be in terms of job creation. It can create opportunities throughout the supply chain due to higher demand for a variety of components. On top of this it can even stimulate the creation of marketing and sales roles. Fortunately we are able to provide recruitment solution for all manner of motor industry jobs, making us a one-stop-shop for clients.
