We pride ourselves on finding the best candidates for the right motor industry jobs, and are glad to see the British automotive industry in full recovery mode. As well as being an excellent month for car registrations, March also saw a significant investment in Jaguar Land Rover, one of Britain’s largest car manufacturers.
This comes as good news for Jaguar Land Rover and particularly the West Midlands where their manufacturing and research and development facilities are currently located. This significant investment is being made by the owners, Indian-based Tata Motors, and focuses on various sites across the West Midlands. The advanced engineering and design centre in Whitley, Coventry, will be expanded considerably, with the purchase of 65 additional acres for the expansion. This is adding on to the already significant site that currently takes up 55 acres, more than doubling its size. The lion’s share of the investment will go towards the Castle Bromwich Advanced Manufacturing plant where manufacturing takes place. £400m will be invested as Jaguar produces its newest model, the Jaguar XF, as well as the XE, the F-Pace and their ‘Ingenium’ Diesel engines.
Over the last five years, Jaguar Land Rover has more than doubled its workforce with the creation of 18,000 new jobs. This new development shows that even more jobs will be created, providing a significant boost for automotive recruitment prospects. This is also good news as it represents the continued operations of Jaguar Land Rover in the UK, something brought into question by previous pay disputes. This will undoubtedly provide a boost for the automotive industry and will ensure a healthy forecast for many years to come.
These new developments represent significant continued investment for the British automotive industry. The creation of more jobs highlights just how important this industry is to the economy. As more jobs are created, you can be assured that our automotive recruitment team will find the best candidates for any vacancies that may arise.
