The industry needs skilled individuals

The manufacturing industry is incredibly strong, and is the heart and soul of Britain’s automotive industry. The industry contributes billions to the economy annually, and those with skills in manufacturing remain highly sought after. Initiatives are being taken in an effort to attract the relevant engineers to the right automotive jobs.

Famous manufacturers of cars who remain based in Britain include Rolls Royce, the Morgan Motor Company, Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover and McLaren Automotive, amongst many others. The strong automotive industry helps to provide a vital pillar for the British economy. The industry is Britain’s largest in terms of exports and generates tens of billions of pounds, with £60 billion being created in 2013 alone and with that number set to be topped with record exports being recorded for 2014.

Manufacturing skills, however, are becoming increasingly difficult to find. This makes the process of finding the right candidate for your automotive jobs a difficult task. The latest data shows that 73% of automotive employers believe there to be a distinct shortage of the specialist skills required for the industry, which has led to a huge increase of hiring those who haven’t worked in the sector previously. It’s clear that automotive employers need an injection of relevant skills and education to keep the industry on top.

Many employers have made attempts to boost the skills of potential employers by offering internships and apprenticeships to help potential candidates find a placement within their company of choice. Other companies are taking youth initiatives in an attempt to instil the required skills at an early age. Nissan has a Youth Evolution Scheme in place for 16 to 18 year olds. Jaguar Land Rover also has a scheme in place called Inspiring Tomorrows Workforce, helping those aged between 16 and 23 who aren’t in education, employment or training to train and develop the skills necessary to succeed in the industry.

We focus completely on finding the right people for the right automotive jobs, and we understand that employers need to find the right workers for their vacancies.
